Subject to Disruption was the resulting exhibition from Asire 2026 at Aspex Gallery in Portsmouth. artists and curators explored disruption not as a dramatic rupture, but as an ongoing condition of the present shaped through time, adjustment, and change.

I explored the reflective and coloured shadow created by the sun that could cast shapes across the whole space. I also pilotted the first sequence of play sessions with the Saturday morning drop in sessions provided by team. Lovely that visitors could photograph their art alongside the artists and were able to inhabit the gallery as makers not only visitors. It was a joy to not just offer play sessions and share the excitment of seeing and doing…, but to work with the volunteers at Aspex and lovely staff.

Exhibiting Artists: Zoë Barker, Mia Bilbeisi, Lindsay Cracknell, Alexandra Motiu, Paloma Passetto de Souza, Daira Ronzoni, Catia Sofia Fontes Silvestre, Kathy Williams.

Co‑curated by: Kuch Bhogal, Chien‑Yu Chen, Hester Poole, Zahra Khanum. Thanks to Luke Spencer, Teb and Alex, Alice, Gracie, Karl and Sam.
